Iliana Drakou is a talented young designer who started her journey in Fashion Design in 2013 and soon discovered the secrets of design and clothing technology.
Her academic specialization in clothing and accessories creation for pets using animal friendly materials along with her growing love for animals were the main factors that inspired her to create handcrafted collars and leashes.
The idea of Unicord started when she was inspired to transform the pet collar into exquisite pet jewelry.
Experimenting with different materials and having as a priority the safety and welfare of animals she discovered paracord. She instantly understood that she had found the perfect material as it combines safety with durability given that it withstands tension +250kg (the same material is used in parachutes), a variety of knitting patterns and colors and innovative style for every preference.
Based in Thessaloniki, Iliana Drakou created Unicord in 2021, a greek company that designs 100% handcrafted collars and leashes which are in essence jewelry for pets while providing for their safety.
Teaming up with a carefully selected small group of experienced executives and knitting craftspeople, with customers from New York, London, Milan, Saudi Arabia and across Greece, Unicord created by Iliana Drakou aims to provide sophisticated fashion style for your four legged family members in and out of the house.
